Kotani Pay, a Kenyan-based crypto payments startup, recently won $100, 000 after emerging the top during the Bablylon Project hackathon initiative.
The virtual hackathon featured over 1, 000 participants from 69 countries, with 20 teams making it to the semi-finals, out of which, 6 projects were chosen to participate in the final round.
After a rigorous round, the top 3 teams emerged:
Kotani Pay was awarded admission into the $100, 000 startup acceleration program that begins in early 2021.
Following the Babylon Project, Kotani Pay has already gone live on Celo, a mobile-first blockchain for emerging markets, offering both an on-ramp and off-ramp from crypto to fiat in Africa.
